Meet the team

Ready2Shine CIC is managed and run by 2 Health Care Professionals that work together to ensure a truly inclusive, person centered experience.  With feedback like "you bounce off each other" and "you compliment each other really well" Shannon and Jenni are a great team. This is what makes Ready2Shine CIC unique, the knowledge of a Sexual Health Practitioner delivering the course, facilitated by a Learning Disability Nurse ensuring the participants are engaged to their full potential throughout. They are supported by some truely inspirational them below! 

Jennifer Hudson

Managing Director of Business

Registered Learning Disability Nurse

Jennifer has worked within the Learning Disability sector since 2003. She is a Registered Nurse and is passionate about people meeting their full potential even if it means breaking barriers. Everyone has the basic need of positive relationships but Jennifer appreciates this can be harder to understand and access for some. She has experience working with a variety of individuals completing assessments of sexual knowledge in order to plan the education received. She has supported individuals with managing emotions from anger to anxiety always promoting independence where she can, up-skilling the individual to feel in control. Jennifer has been training freelance since 2016 but delivered training as part of her nurse role within the NHS . She works in a very individual and Kinetic way using practical elements where possible and is able to quickly assess the changing needs adults present.

Jennifer was awarded Influential Woman of the Year Hampshire 2017 and is up for the nationals in July 2018

Shannon Reddin

Managing Director of Training

Sexual Health Practitioner

Shannon has delivered Sex and relationship Education to various groups of young people and adults for the Solent Sexual Health Promotion Team and on a one to one basis with patients within Genito Urinary Medicine . Shannon is currently undertaking her National Registration as a Public Health Practitioner and continues to work in Educational establishments to deliver tailor made packages of SRE as part of the Personal, Social, Health Education Curriculum. Her passion is ensuring that everyone receives quality and effective sexual health education that allows them to make informed and appropriate decisions without taboo and judgement. The ability to make good choices can lead to empowerment, safety and overall positive holistic health. This is something that Shannon aims to promote in all her delivery.

Catherine Clegg

 Director of Operations. 

Catherine is really excited to be part of the Ready2Shine team. Having spent time with people with learning disabilities both through work and personally, when she heard about Ready2Shine's project she could see what a need there was for a service like this. She has a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education and from this went on to work with children with learning disabilities in school and home care settings. Catherine loves being outdoors and exploring  with her family, as well as anything crafty!
Catherine is passionate about things that matter and has a really diplomatic way of challenging thought processes to allow others to reflect on their actions/decisions. She is honest, insightful and very good at communicating. This is why Catherine is our critical friend within the Directors team. Catherine is responsible for the Policies and Proceedures within the service. She analysis the data and ensures we all impliment the structures that we have in place. 

Louise Rathmill

Volunteer Session Worker

Louise Joined us early 2018 as  support worker and quickly became the rock of the sessions. Louise has contact with participants from right before their first session by calling to introduce and checking how travel plans/homework is getting on right through to the end by completing evaluations. Louise is part of most of the sessions by working alongside the trainer making sure all people are able to follow the programme and their well-being needs during the session are met. 

Louise has worked within Learning Disabilities for a number of years and has a particular interest in RSE she has worked with Jennifer before and so her skills are wll known by the Directors. Louise is Dynamic, fun and so approachable! She has such a high level of communication skills with people who use different methods. 

Charlotte Brown

Volunteer Session Worker

Charlotte joined us mid 2019 to support with sessions on an ad hoc basis. She slowly grew within the service to now runs our Set2Shine coffee mornings. Charlottes role entails contacting the drop in experts that are wanted by the participants and to ensure that there is a good mix of information within the group. Charlotte has a strong background in supporting people, is actively involved with young people and has supported people with Learning Disabilities within an education environment as a guidance counsellor. Charlotte is the comedian in the office, always making us laugh with her direct sence of humour.  

Jo Shaw

Volunteer Session Worker

Jo joined the Team to start as a  session support volunteer in Jan 2020. She has a strong background in Sexual Health and has worked previously with Shannon. She joined the Team descreetly and has instantly settled into the ways we work. Jo has experience in supporting people with achieving positive Mental Health and has had numerous roles around the city supporting vulnerable Adults. 

Jake Robinson 

Volunteer Session Worker

Jake started with us in 2017 before we set up as a CIC. He was a participant on our pilot session giving us valuable feedback. When we started the sessions Jake was keen to be part fo the full programme, following his completion of the course he was keen to support others to have the same opportunity that he had with  us and is now part of the Ready2Shine Team.Jake has provided us with so many laughs, knowledge and skills and so we recruited him to support the sessions with his peers. Jake is a vaulued part of Shine from even before it was born! He supports the sessions and will be helping inthe inital assessments too giving us information from someone who has been through the service himself. You will also see Jake at public events that we attend to allow people to ask him questions about what we do. 

Mike Harris


Mike has joined our team on an Ad Hoc basis and will be running some of the sessions as our demand for service grows. Mike currently runs Gig Buddies and has worked in Learning Disabilities for years. He brings the calm to the office and has a laid back aproach to the way he works. He is modestly confident in his knowledge and approachable  with his manor. He is incredibly knowledgable with local social events for people with Learning Disabilities and is the one to ask if you are looking for things to do!
